Stefan’s Journey at Tonisity

Stefan joined Tonisity on 10 September 2018, initially as an R&D Project Manager. Over the following seven years, he advanced to Senior Scientist and later to Technical Director – Livestock and Applied Research.

During this period, he:

• Contributed to the evaluation of over 200 trials and studies 

• Led several of our most complex and influential research projects 

• Supported the scientific backbone of our product claims and field methodologies 

His work has helped position Tonisity as a global leader in data-driven animal nutrition solutions.

Leading Complex and High-Impact Research

Some of Stefan’s most notable contributions include:

• Testing Tonisity products in new and challenging production environments 

• Following pigs from early-life interventions all the way through to finishing 

• Validating protocols in health-challenged herds, providing real-world robustness 

• Conducting large-scale meta-analyses integrating hundreds of datasets 

These projects have strengthened our understanding of product performance and helped translate scientific findings into practical, farm-level results.

A Career Rooted in Science and Innovation

Before joining Tonisity, Stefan built a diverse and respected career in research and animal health.

His background includes:

• A solid foundation as a Veterinarian

• A PhD in Animal Health

• A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, awarded Best in Class

• Management experience at Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind

• Research roles at Teagasc and Waterford Institute of Technology

• Specialist work in encapsulation technologies at AnaBio Technologies 

His expertise spans statistical analysis, gut health, troubleshooting, experimental design, and manufacturing process improvement.
